DOT Counts West End Cars Once Again

The city’s Department of Transportation (DOT) has once again placed car counters at two locations on Rockaway Beach Boulevard in Belle Harbor – between Beach 127 and Beach 128 Streets and between Beach 130 and Beach 131 Street. Daniel Ruscillo, one of the cofounders of The Coalition Against No Parking Signs (CANPAS) says that Constance Moran, the Queens Commissioner for the DOT told him that they count that was done earlier showed that the No Parking Any Time signs on Rockaway Beach Boulevard from Beach 126 Street to Beach 130 Street could be removed as soon as “the community board firmed up all of the details.” Now, however, Ruscillo says, instead of restoring the parking, as promised in April, the DOT is making another time-consuming study of traffic patters in the area.
