Well-dressed men and women supporters of the Jimmy V Foundation gathered together at Pier Sixty, a beautiful venue in Chelsea Piers (where, at cocktails, we caught the QM2 sail by), to celebrate .the premier awards for the Jimmy V Foundation. Former NYC Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, a picture of health, glowing with warmth and love, received an honorary award for his courage and “Don’t Give Up! Don’t Ever Give Up!“ spirit throughout his battle with cancer and in his everyday life. He, too, was diagnosed with prostate cancer as was Jimmy Valvano. It was Jimmy V’s “Don’t Give Up” spirit that kept him going and today Giuliani is a happy man. Jimmy Valvano, a great basketball player and college coach who Is also a sports announcer for ABC and ESPN lived by that motto. However, he eventually lost the battle. His motto still lives on and after his death his brother, Mike became CEO and founder of the V Foundation that funds research for cancer cures. He was present. Mike Krzyzewski, featured friends and member of the Board of Directors gave the opening address. John Saunders, another Board member, and sports commentator for ABC and ESPN hosted the event and well known Latin singer, Daniel Rodriquez entertained. If you are interested in contributing or attending next year‘s Gala get in touch with The V Foundation. 83% of every dollar raised goes to the foundation.

Those sunny skies come and go but, as the temperatures rise crowds from surrounding areas will be flocking to Kennedy’s. Live music that was soft and sweet. Keiley, Bob O’Brien and Bob Zelek, who is winning his battle against Cancer and doing well now. It takes time, but his spirits are good and he’s coming through with flying colors. We all wish you well, Bob. And our prayers are with you. Special thank you to Pat Samon and Bob O‘Brien for a favor much appreciated.

An exquisite party for the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House called “Moments in Style,” to preview the New York International Arts and Antique Show benefiting Lenox Hill Neighborhood House sponsored by Rolex. Of course, the paintings, sculptures, furniture, jewelry etc. were magnificent, but what was special this year were the extraordinarily beautiful centerpieces adorning each dressed dinner table, not only huge colorful flowers in vases , but one with live fish swimming in the vase. What enhanced the dinner table were p[laced in the midst of the glorious art as if you were being entertained in a lavish, expensive home. This is one show you should not miss. At least attend it once in your life. You wont forget it nor regret it.
