M.S. 53 Goes To Albany


Ms. Naham of M.S. 53 recently brought her Social Studies classes, 709 and 710, to Albany, the state capitol. The seventh graders were selected for high academic merit and invited by State Assemblywoman Audrey Pheffer and State Senator Serefin Maltese to tour the New York State Assembly and Senate.

The State Capitol building enthralled the forty-four students, especially when they learned of the structure’s amazing history. The students also learned the way the state is governed from Albany.Students were treated to lunch before viewing the New York State Museum which currently has a 9/11 exhibit. They studied artifacts taken from the rubble of the World Trade Center.
