Rockaway Museum Offers Art At The Library

The Rockaway Museum is offering a series of workshops for children and teens at peninsula libraries this April. After school visitors can sign up for the “Art At The Library” programs to learn the art of cartooning, painting with watercolors or making clay pinch pots.

Wave cartoonist Robert Sarnoff will teach “Cartooning” on Thursdays, April 14 and 21 at 3:30 p.m at the Far Rockaway Library, 2117 Central Avenue.

Arlene Cornell, noted local watercolorist, will teach “Watercolors” at the Seaside Library, Beach 117 Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard, on Tuesdays, April 12, 19 and 26 at 3:30 p.m. and local art teacher Norma Allende and artist Sophia Skeans will instruct in the art of making clay “Pinch Pots” at the Arverne Library on Fridays, April 15, 22 and 29 at 3:30 p.m.

All workshops are free and include materials. Registration is requested.
