Trinity Services Annual Luncheon May 20 Trinity Services will be holding its 3rd annual luncheon on Friday, May 20 at 12 noon at Russo’s on the Bay at 162-45 Crossbay Boulevard in Howard Beach. Luncheons at Russo’s are fantastic events. The food is beautifully presented and tastes great. There are a large number of choices on the menu to fit every taste. The surroundings are elegant and the staff is courteous, attentive and trained to execute an enjoyable and outstanding event. The tickets are $50. each. All tables will hold 14 persons. Please call Stella Pepi at (718) 474-1641 to make your reservations. The tickets sell out very quickly so please call to make your reservation early.
Trinity Services sponsors three programs: a van transportation program, an intergenerational after school program and an education/recreation program. Each of these programs serves an important and vital need in our community. The purpose of the luncheon is to raise funds to support the Trinity programs. Each year the costs of providing these essential services is going up. Just one concrete example is the price of gasoline to run the van. As every driver knows, the costs at the pump are escalating. This is just one example of the higher costs involved in running the program.
The City and State are facing budget constraints. Therefore, it is incumbent upon us to raise monies to keep our program moving.
Frances Abbracciamento and Joseph Mure are a dynamic duo who have agreed to co-chair the luncheon again. Frances and Joe are outstanding leaders who bring energy and enthusiasm to this event. They need your help in order to make this a successful event. Please call (718) 474-1641 to volunteer your services. We would also appreciate the donation of prizes. This year we will also have our twin win raffle where you can win cash prizes and a trip to Punta Cana with airfare, hotel and meals included. Last year Helene Mandel won the trip to Punta Cana. She is still raving about the wonderful trip that she won. I know that she is buying her ticket and hoping to win again. Tickets are $10 each. As the saying goes you have to be in it to win it. Call (718) 474-1641 to buy your ticket.
The very gracious and elegant honorary chairpersons of our luncheon are Matilda Raffa Cuomo, the former first lady of New York and Dr. Kathleen Cashin, the Regional Superintendent for District 5. Matilda Cuomo and Dr. Cashin are exemplary leaders. We are fortunate to have such articulate, capable, motivated and enthusiastic chairpersons. Matilda Cuomo and Dr. Cashin have a long history of demonstrated competence, effectiveness and achievement as outstanding spokespersons for our community, city and state. They value and recognize the important bonds that develop between adults and our youth that can last a life time and are nurtured through the programs sponsored by Trinity. We are delighted that Matilda Cuomo and Dr. Cashin are honorary co-chairs again this year.
Tom Touhey is back by popular demand. He did a masterful job as the D.J. for the last two years. Tom is a top notch professional. His professionalism, dedication and talent added immeasurably to everyone’s enjoyment of the day. He tailors the musical selections to meet the requirements of this special luncheon. People will be dancing, singing and tapping their feet. Everyone remarks that the D.J. and the musical selections are great. Special thanks to Tom Touhey for volunteering his services.
Please call (718) 474-1641 to obtain tickets to the luncheon, twin win tickets and to schedule a trip on the Trinity van. In order to schedule a trip seniors need to gather 10 to 14 people who want to go to the same place. Once you have your group assembled please call (718) 474-1641 to schedule your excursion. Stella Pepi is the van coordinator. She has extensive experience with administering group trips. Stella will be happy to help you with the logistics of coordinating and planning an enjoyable and successful event.
We look forward to seeing you at the luncheon May 20, 2005 at Russo’s on the Bay.
