  • An Arverne man – with a crass neck tattoo declaring “Pimping Ain’t Easy” – was sentenced to three to six years in prison last Friday for attempting to prostitute a 13-year-old girl, District Attorney Richard A. Brown announced.
  • In addition to the jail sentence, John Fleury, 25, will also have to enroll in the state Sexual Offenders Registry upon his conditional release.

Fleury, of 113 Beach 56 Street, admitted that he tried to prostitute the girl over a three-month period in 2004, according to Brown. The girl’s name was not released because of her age.

The NYPD’s Queens Juvenile Crime Squad began an investigation last year after the girl called police to the Jamaica, Queens apartment where Fleury allegedly brought johns to have sex with her. The girl told police she “cursed out” Fleury who “responded by wringing her neck with his hands,” according to court records.

Fleury pled guilty to attempted promoting prostitution in the second degree on February 16. “The defendant has admitted his guilt, waived his right to appeal and now been sent to prison for destroying the innocence of a child who has been left emotionally scarred for life,” Brown said.
