Sorrentino Center Basketball Hosts March Madness

The Sorrentino Recreational Center is loaded in March with numerous basketball tournaments that will satisfy fans of all ages. The 12 and under semifinals last Saturday had Sorrentino B defeating Sorrentino A, 46-26. #1 seed Redfern will take on Sorrentino B for the championship at 2:30 p.m.

The 11-13 Learn To Play Basketball Tournament’s co-ed division regular season started last Friday. Sorrentino A beat Sorrentino B. and RDRC Beacon defeated Sorentino C.

The 10 and under Learn To Play Basketball Tournament will play every Monday afternoon at 4 and 5 p.m. and Saturday at 12:30 and 1:30 p.m. The first games were played last Saturday as Sorrentino A beat Sorrentino B and Rev. Mason beat Sorrentino C. Last Monday afternoon, Rev. Mason beat Sorrentino A and Sorrentino B beat Sorrentino C.

The Sorrentino Center N.Y.C. Teens At Parks/City of N.Y. Parks and Recreation 19 and under tournament last Tuesday featured the the Sorrentino All Stars who won a 78-70 overtime thriller over Team Grimey. Team Heat defeated Team RDRC Beacon 72-54. Last Wednesday Team Grimey beat Team Heat, 76-74. Team All-Stars handily defeated Team RDRC 85-53. St. John’s Boys Home , representing the Sorrentino Center, won against ACS 36-28, at Roy Wilkins Center..
