Children’s Program At Dead Horse Bay
On Saturday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. a National Park Service Ranger at Gateway National Recreation Area’s Floyd Bennett Field will be leading a children’s program at Dead Horse Bay.
Kids will play detective and search for clues to the past at this oddly named site. Participants will learn about the Native Americans and early immigrants that lived and worked here, and how they used the area’s resources in their everyday lives.
The meeting location for the program is Ecology Village, building 70 in Floyd Bennett Field. There will then be car-pooling to the Field’s main entrance contact station parking lot. From there the group will walk the Dead Horse Bay trail system. This program is free but reservations are required.
