Long Beach Adult Learning Center

The Long Beach Adult Learning Center, in conjunction with the Long Beach School District has expanded its adult education courses. Among the courses offered are:

•An external diploma program for adults 21 and over

•A high school equivalency/GED diploma (English and Spanish)

•Reading and math skills

•Family literacy, available to both parents and children

•English for speakers of other languages

•Learn English from home with distance learning technology

•Citizenship education

•Pronunciation and accent reduction with intonation, phrasing and rhythm

•Job club (employee to employer matchmaking)

•Life skills/employability training

•Case management with certified social workers

•Guidance and counseling services

•Career counseling

•Computer assisted instruction

•Computer workshops
