Everything You Need To Know About Rockaway

The Wave will soon be publishing a “Rockaway Newcomer’s Guide,” designed to become the indispensable guidebook to everything Rockaway.

Want to find a sports association for your child to play lacrosse? Check the Newcomer’s Guide.

Want to find just the right restaurant for that important night out? Go to the guide.

Want to contact the community organization to address your problem? The guide is the answer.

“The Rockaway Newcomer’s Guide is the first publication to specifically target the needs and interests of the thousands of new residents expected to move to the Rockaways in the coming years,” says Wave Publisher Susan Locke. “At the same time, it will allow current residents to find all the information they need in one handy package.”

According to Locke, the new publication will be free and will be distributed sometime this summer as a supplement in The Wave. There will be additional free distribution in racks, retail establishments, restaurants, supermarkets, banks and real estate offices located throughout the peninsula.

“The Newcomer’s Guide will not simply be a listing of all local business and organizations with their telephone numbers,” Locke says. “It will contain a wealth of information about local schools, organizations, clubs, medical establishments, emergency services, houses of worship, recreational choices, summer fun and services.”

It will also contain coupons for many peninsula services and goods.

“There will be something for everybody,” Locke added.

Those interested in advertising in the Rockaway Newcomer’s Guide should contact The Wave at 718-634-4000. For more information about the Rockaway Newcomer’s Guide, see the centerfold.
