Ironworkers Looking For Apprentices

The Ironworkers Joint Apprenticeship Committee Locals 40 and 361 will open recruitment on March 1 for 100 structural ironworker apprentices.

Applications can be obtained in person only at the locals’ headquarters at 35-23 36th Street, Astoria, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from March 1 through March 3, or until 500 applications have been issued – whichever occurs first.

The committee requires that applicants

•Be at least 18 years old

•Have at least a tenth grade education – transcript required after acceptance for the program

•Pay a $25 testing free by money order only

•Take an aptitude test

•Take a physical test

•Take a drug test – if accepted for the program.
