Redfern Wins NYCHA Flag/Hammels Win First

The New York City Housing Authority congratulates its 2004 flag football winners. The Redfern Ravens are the NYCHA Queens Flag Football Champions and at the same time preparing for their 2005 lacrosse competition.  Pictured with his players is Head Coach Richard Washington. Coach WashiAngton is a true triple threat coach (football, lacrosse, baseball) and it keeps Washington and his student-athletes busy all year around.

Hammels recently defeated Ocean-Bey in their first lacrosse competition for the 2005 season.  Pictured are the first week winners of the NYCHA lacrosse league, which started their season last week. Lacrosse games are played every Friday at the Hammels community center. Coach Curtis Williams will have his hands busy this year with a number of additional NYCHA centers participating this year, but Coach Williams stated, “So far so good”.
