Health Disparities In Minority Neighborhoods
Senator Malcolm Smith recently announced that the New York State Department of Health is offering grants to non-profit community-based organizations to address and eradicate health disparities in racial/ethnic minority neighborhoods.
The goals for the grants are to engage the active participation of minority groups to identify a priority health issue, the factors contributing to the issue, or any existing or new solutions to address the issue; and finding community assets that can be mobilized to implement the solutions. Applications are due by March 25, 2005. For more information contact Marrion Arrington of the State Department of Health at 518-474-2180.
