Snow What? Graybeards Come Out In Full

Blizzard? What blizzard? Twelve inches of snow didn’t stop 287 people from showing up at the annual Graybeards Dinner Dance held at Russo’s on the Bay January 22. The hearty souls who braved the elements were treated to a festive, sometimes raucous affair. The Graybeards honored Thomas (Tommy) Ryan as their guest of honor for his behind-the-scenes help to many locals through the years. The Graybeards also recognized the Rockaway Irish Boys (RIBS) for their outstanding community support. The raffle held that evening was a huge success due in large part to the extreme generosity of local merchants who offered special items, gift certificates and services. The snowstorm didn’t stop the indefatigable DJ Teddy either. He brought down the house and according to Suntan Dan Edwards (aka Sunny Walnuts) gave the Graybeards their groove. Pictured, Vinnie Esposito, Rick Horan, Jim Dunn and Marty Andresen get ready to do a Rockettes Routine.
