Thanks To DOS For Cleaning Streets

The raging weekend blizzard that buried Rockaway under 14 inches of snow two weeks ago did nothing to slow down our Department of Sanitation workers who, with few exceptions, quickly cleared the main east-west roads on the peninsula and many of the secondary streets as well. By Sunday afternoon, even the difficult-to-clear beach blocks were open to traffic. We owe the men and women of the Department of Sanitation and Jerry O’Hare, the local supervisor, our thanks for a job well done under difficult circumstances.
