Smoking Prevention At St. Camillus
|St. Camillus students learned first hand about the damage that smoking does to the lungs. The students examined a diseased pig’s lung during a presentation by registered nurse Pat Folan of the Tobacco Center of Long Island and Meghan Bacher, a Marist College senior.
The children learned that more than 4,000 chemicals are put into cigarettes including arsenic, formaldehyde and ammonia. Taylor Butigian picks one of the chemicals out of the cigarette.
