Free Adult Education In Arverne

e Consortium for Workers Education (CWE) is holding an open house on January 22 at 11 a.m. at the Thomas Mason Community Center at 356 Beach Street in Arverne to introduce neighborhood residents to a local Worker Service Center Program which offers free courses that can lead to employment.

The courses include adult basic education, preparation for a General Equivalency Diploma and basic computer courses. City Councilmember James Sanders, Jr., the Rockaway Development and Revitalization Corporation and the CWE are sponsoring the registration drive and the program. “This program is something that the community can and should take full advantage of, embracing this opportunity to improve skills that can lead to work,” said Sanders.
