for larger version       10th Annual 5k Memorial Run-Walk The Memorial Run-Walk honors the memory of five children, Sean Smith, James Fahy, Lauren Caffrey, Kathryn Conroy and Danny Thompson who died due to tragic injuries. All of the children were residents of the Breezy Point, Rockaway Point and Roxbury Community. The Run-Walk is a benefit for St. Thomas More CYO which all of the children were participants. The Run-Walk will take place Saturday September 11, 2004 from the Sugar Bowl, located at the corner of Bedford Ave and Oceanside Ave. Rockaway Point. The Start time for the 5k Run-Walk is 10:30 a.m. with a 1 mile run for 7 to 12, and a Pee Wee 220 yard run to follow. The Run-Walk costs $20 for Adults and $5 for Children under12. Sneakers awarded to overall, 1st, 2nd 3rd place finishers Male and Female. Prizes awarded for Age Groups Male and Female: under 13, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over, and T-shirts to first 750 registered . Free parking is available. Post race refreshments and dj will be provided for all entrants for a limited time. Come and spend a wonderful day as we honor Rockaway’s Greatest Treasure: OUR CHILDREN.
