Digging Up The Past In A BC Home

When Paul Mott decided to rip out the walls in a home at West 17 Road in Broad Channel, he never thought that he’d be digging into the community’s past. After prying a board off the wall, he found what was once a sign marked “The Raunt, Jamaica Bay.” The sign, still holding some of its original paint, was obviously once part of a ferry or boat stop on the bay in Broad Channel. Pictured, Mott with the portion of the board that he brought to The Wave.
