Hammels Woman Stabs Son, 11, Three Times
By Howard Schwach

Nuvia Tatum has reportedly told her son not to borrow a neighbor’s bicycle after he damaged the bike on a previous occasion.

When the Hammels woman came home at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday and found her unidentified son with the bicycle once again, law enforcement officials say that an argument ensued that led to Tatum grabbing a kitchen knife and stabbing her son three times in the arm.

Sources told The Wave that Tatum took responding police officers from the 100 Precinct to the kitchen where she showed them the knife and reportedly confessed.

Her 11-year-old son was taken by EMS ambulance to the Peninsula Hospital Center, where he was treated with three sutures and released.

Tatum is charged with two counts of assault, criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a minor child and harassment.

Her arraignment is expected sometime later this week.
