for larger version       Addabbo To Sponsor Rockaway Family Day City Council Member Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr., has announced that he and the New York City Parks Department will sponsor a family day at Rockaway Beach. On Saturday, July 24 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on the Boardwalk and Beach 96 Street, the New York City Parks Department in conjunction with Council Member Addabbo will have a Sport and Play Mobile Unit, Skate Mobile Unit along with Music, Face Painting, Beach Volleyball and various other activities. There will be prizes and ices for all children who participate. Last years event was such a success that the Councilman requested that the New York City Parks Department work with him once again to bring a day of free activities for his constituents. “Our beaches should be places where our families can enjoy events sponsored by elected officials and the city,” Addabbo said. “It is my pleasure to this event to our local beach.”
