Keitt Graduates NCO Course
Army Staff Sgt. Rashid Keitt has graduated from the Army Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course (BNCOC). The soldier received leadership and job specialty training during the common leader and technical training phases, which focused on leadership assessment and development. The noncommissioned officer received the skills needed to supervise, communicate and motivate subordinates, and learned to assist, operate and install communications systems at the strategic and tactical levels.
The training prepares the soldier to act and perform duties and responsibilities in his particular job specialty while serving as a squad leader, team or section chief, or platoon sergeant. Leaders learned the theories and principles of warfighting skills required to lead small units in combat.
The newly promoted staff sergeant, a Morse interceptor with five years of military service, is assigned to the 116th Military Intelligence Group, Fort Gordon, Augusta, Ga.
He is the son of Gregory and Lisa Keitt of Far Rockaway.
Keitt is a 1999 graduate of Far Rockaway High School.
