Rockaway Lacrosse Meets Garden City

After a week off the Rockaway Urban Patriots Lacrosse Team will meet the Garden City Rams on Saturday, December 11th at 4:00PM at Nold Hall at Farmingdale State University. In their indoor debut, Rockaway fought hard against the undefeated East Meadow boys back on November 20. Midfieldman John Biscaino scored the solo goal for the Patriots. With a two week break and coming off an intense practice, the team feels confident for this up and coming game. Games are played all day long from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and there is no charge for spectators so come out and support the team and witness America’s oldest and fastest sport. After a week off the Rockaway Urban Patriots Lacrosse Team will meet the Garden City Rams on Saturday, December 11th at 4:00PM at Nold Hall at Farmingdale State University. Registration for the 2005 boys season will be held on Saturday, December 18th at the “Beach Club”, 116th Street in Rockaway Park from 9:00 am – 12:00 Noon.

Eligibility: Participation is open to all boys in the 4th to 6th grades who

reside and attend school in the  Rockaways, and who do not play for any Middle School Lacrosse team.

Cost: The registration fee is $100.00 per player, which includes a U.S. Lacrosse Membership ($20.00 value). There will be a late fee of $30.00 for anyone registering beyond December 18th. All applications must be turned in by January 3rd, 2005.

Jerseys: Players who have previously played and who wish to order a new jersey may do so at the time of registration at a cost of $25.00, but must re-order their existing jersey number to avoid duplication of a number. First year players must order a jersey at a cost of $25.00.

Shorts: Rockaway Lacrosse shorts may be ordered by any player at the time of registration for a cost of $25.00 per pair.

What to Bring: 1) Please bring a check or cash. 2) A COPY OF YOUR SONS BIRTH CERTIFICATE. This is a league requirement and you MUST provide one even if you supplied one in the past.

Applications: There will be two forms you will need to fill out: the Nassau County PAL form and the US Lacrosse form. Reminder: Games and practice conflicts occur when participants are involved with more than one sport during the spring season. While every effort is made to coordinate practice schedules with other sports, it is not always possible. Being that lacrosse is a spring sport participants are asked to make it a priority activity during this season. An attendance commitment is required from each participant. Players who miss practice or games may find their playing time limited.

Structure: 4th Grade Travel PAL, 5th Grade Travel PAL and 6th Grade Travel PAL. The indoor workouts will be held starting in February and ending in March. Time schedules will be published at a later date.
