Arrest In Beach 89 Street Shooting
Police arrested two teenagers last week in connection with the recent shooting of another teen, who was struck in the back as he stood outside a house party on Beach 89 Street.
Officers from the 100 Precinct collared the two 16-year-olds last Wednesday night and immediately notified the precinct’s new Executive Officer, Captain Andrew Lunetta, who announced the arrest at the sparsely attended community council meeting later that night. The teens’ names have not been released due to their age, and the case has been referred to Queens Family Court, according to law enforcement sources.
The pair’s arrest follows a shooting of another 16-year-old male on the morning of Sunday, November 14. Police said groups of teenagers, who gathered for a house party at 312 Beach 89 Street, were standing on the street at about 1:20 a.m. when six shots rang out. The victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital with a single bullet wound to his back, said police, who expected him to make a full recovery.
