Erin On The Rox

By Erin Baumann

The 2nd annual Halloween parade led by the Gladiolas was on October 30. The parade ended at the Church Hall where the People’s Association hosted the annual Kid’s Halloween party. The next day Halloween turned out to be a beautiful day for all our little trick or treaters.

Congratulations to Eddie Morgan and Kelly Freer who were married on November 5. The reception that followed was held at Jericho Terrace, followed by their honeymoon in Riviera Maya in Mexico. Good Luck to both of you in the future!

The official inauguration of the new Mayor of Roxbury, Johnny Mangan was held on November 6 at the Mayors Committee at their annual Inaugural Ball, which also included a Testimonial Dinner for outgoing mayor, Vinny Lehner.

Debbie and Eddie Kursoz would like to thank the Roxbury Volunteers who responded so quickly when their son became sick early on Halloween morning. Thank you guys and girls very much and because of all of you, Colin had a very Happy Halloween.

Craig Stathis, along with his brother Christian and father Steve, are the new owners of “Boarders of Rockaway Beach” located at 192 Beach 92 Street. The surf shop has everything from Skateboards to Surfboards. Look for a Grand Opening in the near future.

Get Well Wishes to our mailman, Erik Johnson who has broken his hand and will not return till December 15 th; so if you are planning on giving him a well-deserved Christmas gift please wait until he returns.

Happy Birthday Wishes: Allie Kahlau ~ November 6; Donna Diffendale ~ November 6; Ellen May Esposito ~ November 14; Chris Healy ~ November 14; Megan Monahan ~ November 16; Seamus Ward ~ November 17; And Justin Sheridan ~ November 26.

Finally I want to extend my deepest condolences to the Hettenbach and the Barile families for both their losses.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Take care,

~ Erin.
