Sorrentino Captures Championship
In the 8-11 year old division, the Sorrentino Center Ravens, coached by Kevin Bowers won the Queens Championship. They defeated the Seahawks, coached by Robert Lindo at O’Donahue Park by the score of 44 to 8 on October 23. In the 12-14 division, the Rams, coached by John Middleton, had a much tougher road to the top. The Rams played two hard months of tournament play and difficult playoffs to reach the quarterfinals. Last Saturday, the Rams played in the quarter, semi-finals and Queens championship finals at Baisley Pond Park. In the quarterfinals, the Rams defeated the Liberty Bengals by a score of 54-24. In the semifinals, the Rams beat the Flushing Seahwaks 30-6 and in the quarterfinals, the Rams finally became the Queens champions by beating the Roy Wilkens Ravens in a 78-42 shootout.

The CityWide N.F.L./P.A.L. Parks and Recreation Championships will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2004 at 10 a.m. at Pelham Bay Park in the Bronx. The flag football awards ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2004 with the site and time to be announced.
