George Carlin has risen above and beyond the norm of standup comedy. His relaxed, comfortable stage presence has earned him three Emmy nominations, six CableACE awards and a 2001 Grammy for the Best Spoken Comedian. Carlin has done 12 HBO specials and now preparing for his 13th, George Carlin: Right Near Broadway, which will air in the fall of 2005. With 24 albums in total and his 25th on the way, George Carlin shows no sign of stopping.
George Carlin has acted in 11-featured films, recently appearing in Jersey Girl, starring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, as Affleck’s father. Carlin was nominated for two additional Emmy’s for his role in the PBS children’s show, “Shining Time Station.” In addition to acting, Carlin did extensive voice-over work in the animated productions Tarzan II, The Wild Life and Happy N’ ever After. Carlin has also influenced the world of literature with 1997’s Braindroppings, which spent 40 weeks on The New York Times best-selling list. He then followed up with Napalm & Silly Putty, also on the best-sellers list, and his third book, When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?
