Post Office Opens Roy Reuther Office

Starting this Tuesday, November 16 at 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Far Rockaway Post Office will open an indoor Post Office for all of the residents of the Roy Reuther Houses at Building D of 711 Seagirt Avenue.

The new Post Office will sell stamps, you can prepare and mail packages, even purchase philatelic products and matted prints for gifts and as a special treat for the inaugural opening, will even be able to process passports, and take passport photos, for only a small nominal fee. Postmaster George P. Buonocore feels that with the upcoming winter and cold weather, this will be a tremendous convenience for the seniors that live there, they will never have to leave the building to go to the Post Office. The Postmaster said that customers can schedule pick up of their parcels at this senior window, instead of just receiving the pink slip. The USPS hopes that, as the program progresses, it will be able to offer additional services like Money Orders, Credit Card Transactions and even first class phone cards for long distance discount calling. Postmaster George P. Buonocore, along with Customer Relations Coordinator Scott Klein will be on hand to assist customers with problems and questions. Scheduled to be there for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is Assemblywomen Audrey Pheffer.
