All you love about the kidsmART After School Program – great, enthusiastic instructors, exciting projects and a positive learning and recreational environment for your children – is remaining the same. And we’ve added some changes to insure that everyone has the most fun, creative and safest experience possible.

kidsmART has moved! We’ll now be located in Building T-149 in Fort Tilden.

To give children time to get from school to Fort Tilden, we’ve changed the program times. Program will begin at 3:30 p.m., and children must be picked up promptly between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Children can be picked up at 5:00 p.m., but they can not be dropped off at that time. RAA provides all supplies and materials and an afternoon snack.

Dress for Mess – Children work with clay, paint, etc. Dress appropriately.

If you have any questions, please contact the RAA office at 718 474-0861 and we will be happy to help you. Applications are available. We’re looking forward to another great kidsmART year!

Children ages 6 through 14 are eligible for kidsmART. Children must be 6 years old at the start of the program. If you are submitting a registration form for a 6 year old child, a copy of his/her birth certificate must accompany the form. Your child will not be considered registered until proof of age is submitted.

Geoff Rawling thanks all those who came to his one-man show last weekend at Mike’s bungalow in Broad Channel. It was a great success. Many works were sold and those attending had the opportunity to see the range of the body of work by this versatile artist. For those who missed the show – take heart! There will be another on March 4 at the bungalow. Watch for more details in this column. In the meantime, check out www.geoffrawl

Thanks to Joseph Rothenberg who presented many of his stunning black and white photographs at the November 8 General Meeting. Rothenberg’s work is subtle, powerful, unsentimentally eloquent and controlled. While showing these images, the award-winning artist provided the audience with his insights into the techniques of black and white photography.

Progress continues on the renovation of sTudio 7 Gallery. The new roof has been installed. New windows and doors are in the process of being completed. Work has begun on the siding. The next stage will be the installation of decks. The dream is taking shape!
