SJEH Sets Volunteer Welcoming Program

Volunteers at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital South Shore recently established a program to greet visitors and patients at the Information Desk.  The program helps to make St. John’s a friendlier place to visit.

Volunteers at the reception desk in the main lobby will guide patients and visitors to areas that they need to visit, making St. John’s more user-friendly. They will also distribute visitor passes, call for the patient transport elevator, if needed, and become ambassadors of good will.

In the photo are volunteers (from left to right): Bella Grossman; Anita Horan; Ava Strauss; Marion Duncan; Susan Kimmel; and George Dillon. Absent from the photo is college student volunteer Ranel Gennace.

If you would like to donate a minimum of two to three consecutive hours at least one day a week, please call 718 869-7186 and leave a message.

Members of our staff will call you back to arrange for an interview.

All volunteers are given appropriate orientation and screening.
