A beautiful brunch at Kennedy’s was held recently for 97-year-old Ruth Mahoney, who retired from the former Columbia Savings bank, which is now New York Community Bank after 26 years of service.

Barbara does not have a wrinkle in her face and she attributes her longevity to taking it easy. Thirteen of her bank friends attended along with her hubby, Dan, her son, John, her sister, Audrey and her brother, Kevin. Also celebrating: Ian and Caitlin Byrne; great nephew, Jimmy, 8, and Mary Heins. Ruth and Dan bought a home in Breezy, and summered in the community till 1976, when they became all year round residents.

Barbara is one of eight girls and two boys and has one son, John Mahoney who was there with his wife, Marie. Also in evidence were: 3 great, great grandchildren and one great grandson, baby John V, who was dressed as a Marine Captain, a Pilot just like his Daddy who is serving in Iraq.

Inez Moriarity, who has been gravely ill from colon cancer is now strong enough to attend mass. She is so thankful she is surrounded by her loving family ling in Breezy. Get well soon, Inez.

A marvelous intimate wine tasting for VIP Press was held at Wallse’ Restaurant at 344 West 11 St , NYC where they served chestnut soup and venison. The Austrian wines and food, I must say, were superb. This is a place to return to time and time again.

The Italian Trade Commission held wine and food tasting events around town this week at places such as the Waldorf Astoria, where you could find the “World Pasta Day “ with lunch at the Starlight Room and Dinner off the Lobby. Pasta, pasta and more pasta with its history and now new shapes, which will be appearing on the market shortly.

Indianapolis, Indiana, home of NASCAR held a trade show and buffet dinner at the Waldorf the following evening, where the press learned about the auto racing group’s great events at Trump Casino the Children’s museum and so many more.

Another evening at Michaels Restaurant, Indian Wells made themselves known to the travel agents with a lovely reception. And, at the new hot spot in town, Bungalow B welcomed travel agents who got up to date info on Starwood Hotels.r .Bungalow B is a very intimate and warm venue, but is in the new off beat area on West 27th Street near 11th Ave.

At the Children’s Club at Javits Center. I found the most adorable clothes for the toddlers. Evelyn Bonnie for sizes NB-6X.

Two grandmothers, Evelyn and Bonnie, inspired Shelly Young, owner and designer to develop her clothing line. Since she loved the vintage fabrics it was her desire to bring back the designs of the fifties. Samples will be seen on WNYX-TV so watch for my segments. You will see how adorable they are
