Memorial Roller Hockey Tournament

The Second Annual Ryan Rudden Memorial Roller Hockey Tournament was held on October 9, 2004 at the rink on Beach 109 Street. The first game of the tournament was a rematch of last year’s championship with Ryan’s team against Old School ending in a tie. The next game saw a guest appearance by John “Gator” Schmidt in the net. With a great glove, Schmidt provided solid goaltending for Lenny’s Crew. Other guests included Kenny Kearns and Mike Gambino.

After round robin play, it was the Queens All Stars vs. Old School in the final. Old School eventually lost 6-1.

More than 200 people gathered after the game at the Rugby Clubhouse for a barbecue. Jim McCann, Tyrone Sperling, Pat Grottano and Gerard Andre provided the food and bartending.
