Joshua Harnisher dressed as a sheriff for a last year’s Broad Channel Halloween parade. Don’t be a fool, be a ghoul instead! And don’t miss the “Halloween on Beach 116 Street,” the Broad Channel children’s parade or the HealthPlus Halloween Walk this Saturday, October 30.

City Councilman Joseph Addabbo Jr. is inviting kids and adults alike to suit up in their most imaginative costumes and join him on Beach 116 Street, between Rockaway Beach Boulevard and the boardwalk, from 1 to 3 p.m.

The Broad Channel parade steps off at the 17 Road Park at 1 p.m.

The HealthPlus Halloween Walk begins at MS 198 on Beach 56 Street and Beach Channel Drive at noon and lasts until 3 p.m.

All of the Halloween activities will take place rain or shine and promise to be a scary good time.

At the Rockaway event, sponsored by the Rockaway Chamber of Commerce and developers Benjamin-Beechwood, there will be “Monster Mash” music and goblin goodies for all, said Addabbo. The 100 Precinct will also fingerprint children free of charge, with parental consent.

Broad Channel parade goers will march to the BCAC Memorial Field where they will be treated to cupcakes, candy, juice, a raffle and more.

Addabbo, who has been spotted wearing Superman’s signature outfit beneath his business suit in years past, is working on a top-secret costume. Spooky sources said it might coordinate with infant daughter Alexis Jules’ butterfly outfit. Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Joanie Omeste is rumored to attend as a witchy woman.

There’s no word yet as to whether she’ll be a good witch or a bad witch, but considering that she wants to help clean up the business districts in Rockaway, a broom seems appropriate.
