Weiner Endorsements Grow As Nov. 2 Election Nears
Representative Anthony Weiner has won the endorsement of several key police, labor, choice, and teacher organizations in his campaign for re-election to the United States House
of Representatives, according to a spokesperson for the Congressman. Weiner, who was first elected to the House in 1998, is running for his fourth term.
Over the past six years, Rep. Weiner has worked hard to make Queens and Brooklyn better, safer places to live. He secured $15 million to launch fast ferry service between Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan, authored the nation’s most comprehensive crime scene forensics bill, is leading the fight to put more community police officers in our neighborhoods, and responded to the terror threat with legislation designed to get more homeland security funding to New York City, and less to places that don’t need it, like
Wyoming and Idaho.
Weiner announced that the following organizations have endorsed his re-election bid.
The New York State Fraternal Order of Police: The Civil Service Employee’s Association: The United Transportation Union; The United Food and Commercial Workers; American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees; The National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League-New York;
The National Abortion and Reproductive Rights Action League-National; The United Federation of Teachers; New York State United Teachers.
“For the past six years I have had the privilege to get to know and work
with constituents from throughout Queens and Brooklyn, as well as many of the 9th Congressional District’s local and community leaders,” said Weiner. “I am honored to have their continued support.”
