Weiner Gets Top Grade From Rights Group
Representative Anthony Weiner has received a perfect score from the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights (LCCR), the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights organization. According to the LCCR, Weiner voted to protect civil liberties and civil rights 100% of the time in the 108 th Congress.
Every Congress, the Leadership Conference on Civil Rights analyzes Senators and Representatives based on their votes on legislation having an impact on civil rights and civil liberties. Ratings range from a low of 0% for a poor record on civil rights, to a high of 100%.
This year, Rep. Weiner received a 100% score. According to the LCCR, that means Weiner voted the right way in regards to a variety of issues, including hate crimes, economic development, education, and labor.
“I am proud to have earned a 100% score from the nation’s largest and oldest civil rights organization,” said Rep. Weiner. “It tells me that I am doing something right, but that there is still much work yet to be done.”
