This past weekend, the Rockaway Police Athletic Flag Football League got underway with a tremendous amount of excitement from all involved. Well over twenty teams played last weekend between two of our sites at Bayswater Park and Beach Channel High School. The most excitement, as you the readers will see each week, is arguably from our MIDGET (6-8 yrs) division.

This week, over fifty teams will compete weekly from parks ranging from O’Donahue, Edgemere (back park), and BCHS.

Coach Selena’s Rams from PS/MS 43 were one of the winning teams.

Congratulations must go out to all of our volunteer coaches, because if they were not playing, believe me they were practicing!!!!! Coach Barry from the St. Mary’s Ravens, and Coach Evans Bay Tower Falcons is two of our top senior division coaches who I feel will be battling with their teams throughout the 2004 season.

For those of you that love experiencing young kids smile and have fun, come out and watch all of our teams, five days a week at four different parks. This week’s winners are Coach Winsome’s Seahawks from the midget division, Coach Evans’ Bay Towers Falcons, Coach Barry’s St. Mary’s Ravens and Coach Selena’s Rams.
