File Now For February 26 NYPD Test
Department of Citywide Administrative Services Commissioner Martha K. Hirst and Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly announced today that the Department of Citywide Administrative Services is now accepting applications for the Police Officer exam scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 26, 2005. Applications for the exam must be filed by Friday, December 17, 2004. For those who cannot make it to the scheduled exam, the Department of Citywide Administrative Services will offer three alternative exam times on February 25, March 3 and March 6, 2005.
Applications are available at all Precincts, Transit Districts, Police Service Areas, Public Libraries, Department of Labor and at the office of the Department of Citywide Administrative Services at 18 Washington Street in Manhattan. To find the loction of your local precinct or to apply for the test online, log on to www.nyc.gov/nypd . There is no filing fee for this exam.
To be eligible to take the Police Officer exam, applicants must be at least 17½ years old by the last day of filing (December 17, 2004), and not have reached their 35th birthday by the first day of filing (October 6, 2004). Those applicants who have served in active duty with the U.S. military may be exempt up to six years from the age requirement.
