John Cunneen Golf Memorial

On Saturday, October 2, the friends of John Cunneen gathered at Riis Park to golf in his memory. The proceeds from the event went to Cunneen’s daughters’ college expenses.

Rick Lynster provided the excitement of the day by hitting a hole in one on the 11th Hole, the longest hole on the course. John Marley and John Farmer, tournament directors, gave awards out at the barbecue after the event.

Brian King could have given Tiger Woods a run for his money with his excellent play on the day.

A friendly rivalry developed at the event between old friends from Mahony’s Bar and the Harbor Light guys.

Next year’s event will be held on the last Saturday in September.
