Shamrocks Win 4th Consecutive Game

By Coach Gene Guttieri

The Ponies scored first on a 30-yard pass play from Anthony Ciambrello to Ronnie Lonnborg. Tight End Sean Welch caught a halfback option pass from Lonnborg for the extra point to make it 7-0.

Oyster Bay scored on a pass to make it 7-6. Lonnborg then broke a 50-yard touchdown run to put the Shamrocks up 13-6. A tough defense of Guttieri, Tubridy, Kelly, Gericke, Hazel, Trudden, Laino, Holgate and Thomas stopped the run. A fumble recovery Eddie Warren gave the Shamrocks the ball.

QB Anthony Ciambriello took advantage by throwing an 18-yard scoring strike to Joshua Emblem. Ciambriello took the extra point himself for a 20-6 lead. Oyster Bay put a drive together and scored their second touchdown and extra point for a 20-13 lead. The Shamrocks’ Laino caused a fumble with a big hit and Lonnborg scored on an 18-yard screen pass to make it 26-13.

The Shamrocks defense led by Randall, Hadler, Murray, Clark, Ellis and Tom Trinajstic held off the Oyster Bay offense. The Ponies will play at Seaford at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
