Mrs. Deacy’s fourth grade class went to the beach to build models and learn about New York State’s mountains, valleys and plateaus.
With a beach right next door, Mrs. Deacy says, “You can make anything into a learning experience.”
Mrs. Deacy’s class used to the beach to replicate the plateaus in upstate New York.
The class modeled the source of the Hudson River in the Adirondack Mountains to its end at the Atlantic Ocean in New York City. They also included tributaries like the Mohawk River.
