American Legion Alive And Open

Commander Mike Honan of the Rockaway American Legion paraphrases Mark Twain when he says, “The reports of our demise are greatly exaggerated.”

Although it is true that the Post building and property are up for sale, the facility is operational, and still houses many of the same activities it has in the past, Honan told The Wave.

It is used twice monthly as a meetinghouse for post members, the Ladies Auxiliary, hosts dinners for disabled veterans from St. Albans as well as other functions. The hall is also available to the general public for hire and is fully insured and licensed.

For more information on scheduling an event at the American Legion Hall, call the Post.
