Voice of the People (VOTP) will meet on Oct. 28th, instead of Oct. 20th at the American Legion Hall at 7:30pm as originally planned. They will discuss “Survival of Children.”

Say a few prayers for Peter Danzilo who has been fighting his way back to health after another bout with pneumonia.

Donald Trump launched his new magazine, “Trump World” this past week at his new Trump United Nations Plaza and what an event it was. Lots and lots of young gorgeous well dressed ladies attended along with young yuppie guys. Great music, libation and potential millionaires crowded the Penthouse suites to hear Mr. Donald Trump announce his new magazine venture which is filled with beautiful, bright and talented people. It is on the stands now at $5.99 a copy.

Le Cirque was the spot for the European Steigenburger Hotels and Lufthanza Airlines. When I produced my TV show “Travels in Style” in Paris, French Riviera, Monaco, and Venice, the Steingenburger Hotels accommodations were most superior with fine service. Seems I will get a chance to visit them again in Switzerland and fly Lufthanza to get there since I was top winner in their raffle that night.

In Union Square the annual City Harvest took place which, as usual, was a fabulous event and one not to be missed next year.

Gourmet tastings of the finest restaurants in and around Union Square offer samplings of their top dishes with the best wines to complement the dish. This is a most successful fundraiser for an organization that does a most wonderful job feeding the hungry in the city. Make sure you make it next year.

You may also wish to attend the Purveyor’s Ball at the Puck Bldg. this year though I don’t know where next year. This is also a good fundraiser with the best food and wine and specialty purveyors in the tri-state area who allow you to sample their amazing specials, offer discounts and have giveaways. Natalie’s Orchard Island Juice, 100% fresh, was a top choice of mine along with edible gold leaf to top your favorite pastry; 23-karat gold dust or flakes to garnish your cakes. The cheeses were superb. Try to make it next year.

Argentina wines were over at the Lighthouse in Chelsea Piers, a magnificent venue and I just fell in love with them especially Malbec. It is so smooth and velvety. I am sure you will agree if you taste it.

Remember Barney’s on 7 Ave. and 17 Street? It is now the beautiful Rubin Museum to display and preserve Himalayan Art. Very interesting. The Health and Beauty Association held their big event at the Javits Center where I discovered a watch that will hold perfume. It is quite fascinating and certainly utilitarian. At their awards dinner Janice Teal received the Lifetime Achievement Award. She is Group President and Chief Officer of Avon Products, Inc. James Layden, MD professor of Dermotology of the University of Penn. School of Medicine was another recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award. Best product was Avon Anew clinical, R&D technical team and Paul Sheppard for Packaging Executive.

While on the subject of beauty, I keep getting compliments of my rejuvenated face through INVISILIFT. It must be working when a man I used to see now and then at events I covered didn’t recognize me and turned to me and said, “You looked too young to be you.” Well, I have good news for all of you. Dr. Mattone from Great Neck has gift certificates on hand to send to anyone who wishes to receive one. Wouldn’t that make a great gift for Mom or Grandma? Hurry and get one now the Holidays are coming and you don’t want her to run out.

Even if you love oysters as I do, if you attend next year’s Oyster Frenzy you will finally get your fill, I most certainly did last week at the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station, at their Oyster Frenzy. And, a frenzy it was with oysters from all over the world; Nova Scotia, New Zealand, British Columbia, Maine and Long Island. And, the small, large, plump were all good! So good I ate until I couldn’t eat another oyster. Of course the were well washed down by complimentary wines, just as good. Never did I think I could get enough oysters. In the wine challenge Syn Cuvee Bianc de Blanc from S. Australia took 2nd place as Best West Coast. East Coast was Pellegrini Chardonney from Long Island.
