M.S. 53 Welcomes 500 Parents To Orientation

Claude Monreau, acting principal of M.S. 53, welcomed parents at an orientation meeting on September 20. More than 500 parents attended along with many staff members.

Although entering sixth graders were the focus of the night, many seventh and eighth grade parents were also present. Dr. Kathleen Cashin, Region 5 Superintendent and Michele Lloyd Bey, the Local Instructional Superintendent, were in attendance.

Monreau was pleased with the turn out and explained his three-year plan for turning the school around to the crowd.

Music teacher A. Majied highlighted the year’s plans for the choral and instrumental programs. PTA members and key staff members were also introduced.
