Plumb Beach to Breezy Point Bike Tour

The National Park Service at Gateway National Recreation Area is offering the public an opportunity to learn about the natural, cultural and recreational resources of the Jamaica Bay Unit while bicycling from Plumb Beach to Breezy Point on Saturday, October 2 at 10:00 a.m.

This ranger-guided tour and ride will lead participants from Plumb Beach, over the Plumb Beach Inlet Bridge and along Flatbush Avenue using the Rockaway Gateway Greenway Multiuse Path. A side trip will take riders into and around Floyd Bennett Field. Returning to Flatbush Avenue, the tour will continue over the Marine Parkway Bridge and into Fort Tilden. Traveling through the Fort and along scenic Shore Road, the tour will continue through Breezy Point and conclude at the tip.

The program is free but reservations are required. To reserve your spot, call the Floyd Bennett Field Visitor Contact Station at 718-338-3799. Participants must provide their own bicycle and safety equipment. Helmets are required.
