Police restrain William Good after he and Richard Schwartz, sitting in the background, after the two fought on Tuesday. This was more than an intense literary debate, and when it was over, two men, who a witness described as “skells,” were arrested and blood was on the concrete near the Seaside Library.

William Good and Richard Schwartz were arrested on Tuesday afternoon after the two allegedly fought with one another in front of the library at 116-15 Rockaway Beach Boulevard, police said.

A police source told The Wave they had to mace Good, who was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Schwartz was charged with menacing.

A box cutter was recovered at the scene and small pools of blood were left on the concrete in front of the busy house of books.

A witness who saw Good and Schwartz said the men “looked like dirt bags – real skells.”
