Track Work To Derail Weekend Service
“A” Train service to and from the Rockaways will grind to a halt on four weekends in October and November so that track work can be performed, according to the MTA New York City Transit.
Rockaway-bound passengers may board free shuttle busses at the Rockaway Boulevard station.
One bus will stop at Noel Road in Broad Channel and then at the intersection of Rockaway Freeway and Beach 98 Street.
Another bus will stop at the Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue and Howard Beach-JFK stations.
Shuttle trains will operate between the Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue station and the Rockaway Park-Beach 116 Street stations.
Manhattan-bound passengers may take the Q21 bus to Rockaway Boulevard and then connect to the subway system.
The service interruptions will begin at 12:01 a.m. Saturday and end at 5 a.m. Monday on three weekend in the near future: The weekend of October 2-4, the weekend of October 30-November 1, and the weekend of November 6-8.
In addition, service on Saturday, November 13 will be completely suspended from 12:01 a.m. until 8 p.m.
