Dangerous Eyesore On Beach 130 St. Blights the Dust
One of the most unsightly houses in Belle Harbor met its demise on Tuesday when a crane arrived and demolished it. The house, located at 130-04 Cronston Avenue, has long been vacant. It was the scene of a fire last December in which a New York City Firefighter was injured. The house was subsequently labeled unsafe by the New York City Department of Buildings. The DOB said the first floor was filled with combustible material and that the bricks had shifted in several places. The city’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development was recently authorized by a court order to level and clear the property.
