Applications Due For Electrician Apprentices
The Electricians Joint Apprenticeships Committee of New York, IBEW Local 3, will open recruitment on September 13 for 500 apprentices.
Applications can be obtained by sending a registered letter only to the Joint Apprentice Committee, P.O. Box 560249, College Point, NY 11356-0249. Letters must not be postmarked before September 13, or after September 27, 2004.
The first 2,000 requests, or the total received on the first if in excess, will receive applications.
The committee requires that applicants 1) Be at least 18 years of age 2) Have a high school or GED diploma, with one year of algebra or high school Regents math – transcript required after acceptance for the program 3) Have lived within the greater NY metropolitan area (50-mile radius of Columbus Circle) for at least two years immediately prior to applying 4) Take an aptitude test 5) Take a physical examination by a physician selected by the committee at the committee’s expense and 6) Pay a $20 non-refundable application fee.
