The next general meeting of the 100 Precinct Community Council is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 22 at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Awards for the precinct’s “cops of the month” for July and August will be presented.

Receiving the awards for the month of July are P.O. Lohnes and P.O. Feldman for their roles in the rescue of two bathers from the rough waters off Beach 116 Street.

The awards for August will be given to Sgt. Cerrato, P.O. Sykora and P.O. Raghab for their arrests of people who used firearms in the commission of various crimes.

In preparation for upcoming elections, a nominations committee will be selected at the meeting.

The committee will be made up of seven members in good standing and selected by the council’s president. Nominations will be taken for all positions on the council’s executive board. The list of nominees, along with nominations from the floor will be presented at the council’s October general meeting.

The election of officers will be held immediately following this process. Guest speakers from the American Red Cross will discuss emergency preparedness.
