Geraghty Accepts Rugby Head Coaching Position

Rockaway Rugby is set to begin their fall season, and all are welcome to join in. Practices are Thursday nights (7 p.m.) at Fort Tilden and no experience is necessary to join the club. The Fisheads are the only rugby team in Queens and one of only a handful of clubs in the country to own and operate their own clubhouse (113-06 Rockaway Beach Blvd).

New players are encouraged to come out and meet the fellas this Thursday at the fort as the season begins on September 18th with an away game in Princeton N.J.

After finishing second in the league last season, Rockaway Rugby is hoping to take the division this year and return to the North East Playoffs next spring. With an array of talented and exciting players like Jim “Kermit” Egan, Tyrone Sperling, and Paul Pace, the Fisheads are destined for success.

The Fisheads are extremely pleased to announce that legendary rugby Icon Mike Geraghty has accepted the head coaching position for the fall campaign. Famous Rockaway back fielder Dave Lonergan will assist him. Call the Fishead’s Hotline for more information at (718) 474-1725.
